What Prayers Will God Hear?

1) The humble. Luke18:9-14- And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised othersTwo men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men [are], extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as [his] eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified [rather] than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

The righteous. Ps. 34:15,17- The eyes of Jehovah [are] unto the righteous, And His ears unto their cry. They cried, and Jehovah heard, And from all their distresses delivered them.

Them that fear and obey God. Ps.145:18-19- Near [is] Jehovah to all those calling Him, To all who call Him in truth. The desire of those fearing Him He doth, And their cry He heareth, and saveth them. Is.11:2- Rested on him hath the Spirit of Jehovah, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and might, The spirit of knowledge and fear of Jehovah. The Holy Spirit brings real knowledge and fear of Jehovah. It is not a human ability.

4) Those that please God. 1John3:22- and whatever we may ask, we receive from Him, because His commands we keep, and the things pleasing before Him we do,

Secrets to Prevailing Prayer

John 15:7- if ye may remain in me, and my sayings in you may remain, whatever ye may wish ye shall ask, and it shall be done to you. Everything we do and say must be the result of the vine we are attached to. “The Holy Spirit is the spirit of prayer and when I abide in Him, He will quicken me to pray. If we abide in Him, and His words abide in us, the result is , we shall ask. It will be a natural thing.

Warnings-Prayers God Will Hear But Not Answer

Praying selfishly. James 4:3- ye ask, and ye receive not, because evilly ye ask, that in your pleasures ye may spend [it].
Unconfessed sin. Isaiah 59:1-2- Lo, the hand of Jehovah Hath not been shortened from saving, Nor heavy his ear from hearing. But your iniquities have been separating between you and your God, And your sins have hidden The Presence from you -- from hearing. Confession produces brokenness. John 13:10- Jesus saith to him, `He who hath been bathed hath no need save to wash his feet, but he is clean altogether; and ye are clean, but not all;'

God will not answer when your feet (walk) are dirty. God told Moses to tell the priests to wash hands and feet. Jesus said just your feet now. The reason is because we no longer live by work but only walk. Because grace doesn’t require work. Ps.32:1-7- By David. -- An Instruction. O the happiness of him whose transgression [is] forgiven, Whose sin is covered.

O the happiness of a man, To whom Jehovah imputeth not iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit. When I have kept silence, become old have my bones, Through my roaring all the day. When by day and by night Thy hand is heavy upon me, My moisture hath been changed Into the droughts of summer. Selah. My sin I cause Thee to know, And mine iniquity I have not covered. I have said, `I confess concerning My transgressions to Jehovah,' And Thou -- Thou hast taken away, The iniquity of my sin. Selah. For this doth every saintly one pray to Thee, As the time to find. Surely at an overflowing of many waters, Unto him they come not. Thou [art] a hiding-place for me, From distress Thou dost keep me, [With] songs of deliverance dost compass me. Selah. (This is the reason some are sick.)

Idolatry. Ezekiel 14:3- `Son of man, these men have caused their idols to go up on their heart, and the stumbling-block of their iniquity they have put over-against their faces; am I inquired of at all by them? Thou shalt have no other Gods before me. Call upon God first. Great power will come when you put Him very first.
Watch for unbelief. James 1:5-7- and if any of you do lack wisdom, let him ask from God, who is giving to all liberally, and not reproaching, and it shall be given to him; and let him ask in faith, nothing doubting, for he who is doubting hath been like a wave of the sea, driven by wind and tossed, for let not that man suppose that he shall receive anything from the Lord -- James 5:16-18-

Be confessing to one another the trespasses, and be praying for one another, that ye may be healed; very strong is a working supplication of a righteous man; Elijah was a man like affected as we, and with prayer he did pray -- not to rain, and it did not rain upon the land three years and six months; and again he did pray, and the heaven did give rain, and the land did bring forth her fruit. Effectual, Effective, active. An effectual prayer is a prayer that meets every condition.

The Right Place, Position, and Disposition in Prayer

Psalm 62:11- Once hath God spoken, twice I heard this, That `strength [is] with God.' Exodus 33:7-11- And Moses taketh the tent, and hath stretched it out at the outside of the camp, afar off from the camp, and hath called it, `Tent of Meeting;' and it hath come to pass, every one seeking Jehovah goeth out unto the tent of meeting, which [is] at the outside of the camp. And it hath come to pass, at the going out of Moses unto the tent, all the people rise, and have stood, each at the opening of his tent, and have looked expectingly after Moses,

until his going into the tent. And it hath come to pass, at the going in of Moses to the tent, the pillar of the cloud cometh down, and hath stood at the opening of the tent, and He hath spoken with Moses; and all the people have seen the pillar of the cloud standing at the opening of the tent, and all the people have risen and bowed themselves, each at the opening of his tent. And Jehovah hath spoken unto Moses face unto face, as a man speaketh unto his friend; and he hath turned back unto the camp, and his minister Joshua, son of Nun, a youth, departeth not out of the tent.

The right place- The right place for prayer is where God is. The Lord must quicken us. Exodus 33:9- And it hath come to pass, at the going in of Moses to the tent, the pillar of the cloud cometh down, and hath stood at the opening of the tent, and He hath spoken with Moses; When the cloud came, then Moses began to fellowship with God. If you wait for the Lord in prayer and allow Him to touch you, going back is very easy.

Matt. 6:6- But thou, when thou mayest pray, go into thy chamber, and having shut thy door, pray to thy Father who [is] in secret, and thy Father who is seeing in secret, shall reward thee manifestly. Exodus 33:14- and He saith, `My presence doth go, and I have given rest to thee.' God rewards us openly by allowing His presence through us to be felt by others. God’s presence will go out with us when we truly touch heaven.

Jeremiah 30:21- And his honourable one hath been of himself, And his ruler from his midst goeth forth, And I have caused him to draw near, And he hath drawn nigh unto Me, For who [is] he who hath pledged his heart To draw nigh unto Me? An affirmation of Jehovah. The Lord must quicken us. Psalm 80:18- And we do not go back from Thee,

Thou dost revive us, and in Thy name we call. Psalm 119:25- [Daleth.] Cleaved to the dust hath my soul, Quicken me according to Thy word. We must be dependent on God. Dependence brings victory. Independence brings defeat. Prayer is the heart talking to God. Ps.119:37- Remove mine eyes from seeing vanity, In Thy way quicken Thou me. Our own strength will make us fail.
Psalm 119:40- Lo, I have longed for Thy precepts, In Thy righteousness quicken Thou me, We can’t even follow God until He quickens us to do it.

Psalm119:50- This [is] my comfort in mine affliction, That Thy saying hath quickened me. Silence before the Lord brings His presence and power.
Song of Solomon 1:4 Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee.

When we do nothing, then God can move. Isaiah 30:15- For thus said the Lord Jehovah, The Holy One of Israel: `In returning and rest ye are saved, In keeping quiet and in confidence is your might, And ye have not been willing. Leviticus 16:14-15- And he hath taken of the blood of the bullock, and hath sprinkled with his finger on the front of the mercy-seat eastward; even at the front of the mercy-seat he doth sprinkle seven times of the blood with his finger.

And he hath slaughtered the goat of the sin-offering which [is] the people's, and hath brought in its blood unto the inside of the vail, and hath done with its blood as he hath done with the blood of the bullock, and hath sprinkled it on the mercy-seat, and at the front of the mercy-seat. Heb.10:19- Having, therefore, brethren, boldness for the entrance into the holy places, in the blood of Jesus, The right position is under the blood.

The right disposition. Numbers 7:8-9- And four wagons and eight oxen he gave unto the sons of Merari, according unto their service, under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest. Exodus 25 In the presence of God.
